June 2014 at Disneyland Paris

June 2014 will be an exciting month to be at Disneyland Paris, and if you’re planning an early summer trip you’ll be pleased to know that park opening hours and attraction closures are now available on our Calendar.

If you don’t want to click through each day on the official calendar, our Closures & Refurbishments page simply lists the attraction closure dates in full.

In June, we’ll surprisingly be missing both Flying Carpets Over Agrabah and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Well, there’s always Orbitron – Machines Volantes.

Both RC Racer and Big Thunder Mountain will have brief closures, while Space Mountain: Mission 2 goes down for a longer 20 day refurbishment.

Captain EO continues its indefinite closure, but oddly there’s no mention of Armageddon: Les Effets Speciaux, which now seems to have had all its earlier closure dates beyond 26th March 2014 removed: originally pencilled in as every date from 31st onwards. Does that really mean it won’t spend the majority of the year closed after all?

June’s park opening hours are fairly solid throughout, but there’s a couple of interesting points, when you consider Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy will be gearing up to open around this period.

First, there’s a very unusual 6pm closing time at Walt Disney Studios Park on Saturday 21st June. This is the first and only Saturday in 2014 where the park will close at 6pm, not 7pm. This can often hint at an after-hours private event… a special preview, or even a press event, perhaps? Something must be planned for that date.

Then, it’s interesting to notice the park’s weekday schedule changes from a 6pm closing to 7pm from Monday, 23rd June. This could just be park switching into busier summer mode, but it also just happens to match the 23rd/28th June dates rumoured by some sources for a “soft opening” of the new attraction: that’s a period of weeks before an attraction’s “official” opening when Disney opens it for certain periods as a kind of live “dress rehearsal” with guests allowed in.

All this remains speculation, as Disneyland Paris refuses to confirm any opening dates, but we’re certainly getting closer…
