Why no Pin Trading Night? Why so few releases all at the very beginning of the month?

Here’s why – this month will see a major Pin Trading Day on Saturday 25th August 2007.

The first guests entering the park receive a special board and an exclusive Limited Edition pin for free, and can then pick up more at various locations around the park to complete the collection – if a cut-throat mob of eBay sellers hasn’t trampled you to the floor first, of course.

Phew… somebody had better remortgage Sleeping Beauty Castle!

The ‘Walt Disney Studios Stitch Encounter’ series took a break last month due to the large amount of 15th Anniversary pins, but this month – for no apparent reason – he fails to reappear. Maybe the blue alien is too busy invading Walt Disney Studios for real, at the Television Tour?

Two interesting pins listed are the Opening Crew and Castle Stamp “re-editions” – speculation could suggest these are pins from the grand opening in 1992, which have been reproduced in the modern Pin Trading style. Feel free to leave a comment if you know any more about these!

The new pin, rumoured to be the first in a series of at least 10, was released this morning in the boutiques of the resort, and features Stitch and Lumiere counting 100 days to the 15th Anniversary. The J-100 spins around to reveal the “15” logo. Further pins will apparently count down to the anniversary every ten days: J-90, J-80, J-70, etc, though these have not been listed in the month’s official Pin Releases below.
